WAR, BETA you have to pay for.

So like, a game I loved. Wanted to play non-stop, and was fun as hell… Yes Warhammer. But sadly, after playing 3 characters to t4… and even being invited to help test new patches on private test server… Was sad. They asked us for feedback. We gave them A TON LOAD of feed back… Did they listen? I will give ya 1 guess, and the answer is not yes. Instead they decided to take away more of what made the game fun, nerfing a class I enjoyed immensely, Sorcerer. They did fix things that no one complained about and no one knew about, but never fixed any bug we gave them or any suggestions we gave them either.

After that, I kinda lost interest. Mythic is supposed to be really good with customer feedback and customer service. I honestly think the devs and CSRs are not even in the same state.  On top of that, my best friend and I played War. We had rolled on a server, which later we moved to another due to low population (read : players are leaving due to things being broken and not being fixed). It was great. The transfer of my 10 characters took maybe 10 mins. Wasn’t until about a week after the transferred there was a problem… One of my characters was named “Duct Tape”. I loved my lil shammie… It was odd though. Was sitting waiting for a scenario to pop, and someone random asked me what I was going to do for my last name… as in, he only saw “Duct” and not “Tape”… I then realized later that night that my best friends character didn’t have his last name either. On my screen I could see my last name, on his screen he could see his. But no one else could see them. I decided to file an Appeal. While my best friend filed a bug report… about 6 hours later I got a reply back from a CSR. Took about 15 mins to explain, then they ended up saying sorry they couldn’t help and to file a bug report, so I did. Then about 24 hours after my best friends bugreport, he got a message from a bug report guy, took less than 30 seconds and I could see his last name again. He then asked the guy what I should do, the bug report said to just file another appeal. So I did… about 4 hours later I got a message from a CSR, err wait, the EXACT same CSR that I talked to the day before… had to explain it again, 15 mins, then they said they couldn’t help… So lets recap, CSR said to file Bugreport, Bugreport said to talk to CSR, CSR said to file bug report….so i filed a 2nd bug report. Did I mention after that I still didn’t get a response from any bugreport people?

I gave up at that point, but a  couple weeks later I decided to try again, maybe I will get lucky, I thought… Filed appeal and got a response about 2 hours later. Explained situation, they said sorry. I explained to them that my friend had it fixed in less than 30 seconds… They said they couldn’t talk about anther account with me… to which I offered to log onto that account at the same time to prove to them and let them read the notes on that account to see it was in fact done.. Both of the CSRs so far have offered to look at the other account, and asked the name of the character it was done on… but neither could discuss it with me. Not like it was a secret, I saw it happen on his character. This CSR even asked their supervisor and he decided they wouldn’t help me either and to file a bug report… I filed a 3rd bug report. To which after 4 weeks, 3 bug reports, I have gotten 0 response and still cannot get my last name to show up to others, OR EVEN MAKE IT GO AWAY on my screen :(

I give up on a game that won’t do what they have the means to do to satisfy their customer base. Oh well, most people say its gunna end up just like AoC, dead in 6 months. I think today it around the 4th or 5th month…

Did I also mention that in t4 there was almost nothing to do? Game was built so that in T4 their would be city take overs… too bad that after the game was in beta for years, and game had been out for 4 months, server or zone crashes when you get to the zone before city.. and then resets and the 4 or 5 hours of hard work to get there is gone… oh well, I won’t worry about a crappy game that had a fun game mechanic.

I am done paying for a game that feels like a beta. Get 90% of the game working not 50% before releasing it… so I decided to play a game that still brings joy to my face. EQ2

Look for more EQ2 posts to come :D

Vote Kasha

So, I was on facebook, looking at my friends and came across one that, well, I miss. They added me as a friend but never said anything to me, though to be fair I didn’t say anything either. Kinda sad. I miss them a lot. We had some good times together.

Anyways, it got me to thinking about my days at Willamette. One of the greatest things I was apart of there and was one of the best memories was the ASWU elections.

Let me preface this post a lil’ bit. After being on campus for a few weeks I found out about a peer to peer type webpage that connected all the computers on campus together. It was a big file share site and you could search it for files and then proceed to download them from the machine that had them. This site was called “Vote Kasha”.

I guess it was kind of a joke from the previous year, never quite got an answer to what it really meant. I think there was actually a person named Kasha that left/graduated that year.

Iirc it was a few months and the Vote Kasha forums were born. This was the place that we all could communicate with each other. Set up posts outlining who would download what season for this show via bittorrent or whatever. It also was a place where we got into off topic discussion. About campus life. Flaming people for what they had on their computer. Poeple having pr0n and such. Was fun, very fun.

Ok, on to the good stuff. There came a time when the good people of WU needed to elect a new student body… and guess what the people who ran the forums did.. yup, that’s right, campaigned for Kasha as prez. I still have the poster that was plastered everywhere.

Now who wouldn’t want to vote for Kasha? by the way, I don’t know whether the guy is Kasha or not but reading the poster it refers to Kasha a a girl.

I resided in Doney on the corner of the 2nd floor and we had 2 windows. I made some signs saying “Vote Kasha” to help with the camp[aignh as my room windows were pretty visible to most walking on campus.

Today, I decided to see if my WU email still worked cause I had an email of the ASWU results. Well one of the 2 emails. I have the one for outcome summery, not the actually tallys.

Excerpt from the email:

Thanks to everyone that voted for the ASWU Executive, we had 710 ballots
cast. Here are the results:

President:
  Killpack 413
  Write In 246

As you can see there was a major write in. I wish I had the other email as to who were the write ins, but I can tell you it was 21 votes for some other dude and 225 votes for… Kasha. I was floored. When I saw that email I literally fell to the floor laughing. it was awesome. I knew I had voted for Kasha as a joke, but 224 other people did too?

On a side note, I did a google search for “Vote Kasha” and found a blog. Not sure who this person was but I am going to try and find out.

I also decided to email the friend I missed. Hope they will understand.

Saturday.

Well, I should have posted this on Sunday but ‘better nate than lever’ I guess…

So, was hanging with my mom and bro when we drove by this in Bend. I just had to take a pic. Was hilarious.

Like they do it on the discovery channel?

Like they do it on the discovery channel?

Wonder if the neighbors complain.

Later that night, best friend, bro, and I went out to have fun.  We decided to go to Starz. But before going we knew we should prolly get a few drinks else where. We hit up Mcminemins and proceeded to drink. Round of AMF, then Tokyo Tea, then Black Opal, then tequila shots, and I stopped at that. I think they had another round of something else, maybe rum and cokes, no idea.

Next thing I remember is wanting to puke but walking a ways to the road and then being driven to Starz. Never did puke. At the door I remember trying to act not drunk as the bouncer checked IDs and such. I think we had a beer at Starz as well. Don’t remember much of being there.

I do remember walking to taco bell once we got home, and proceeded to walk through the drive though. No one answered us though as I think they close at 2 am. Thinking back on it, that was prolly the most hilarious thing I have done drunk. Anyways, we decided to get nachos at 7-11, and they were good! At home I think I passed out on the floor downstairs, but woke up in my bed upstairs. Crazy night.
