Say ‘Cheese’

Well, I finally got my own digital camera. Been wanting one for quite some time, so I got my Nikon s550 a few days ago and been playing around with it. Just wanted a decent point and shoot. Seems to do well and I am impressed on the photos it takes so far.

It’s kinda weird… I hate having my photo taken, but I like to take my own photo.  Don’t know why.

I think this next week I am going to ride my motorcycle out somewhere and take a few pics of scenery or maybe the sun setting to test it out more. Also, want to test out the time lapse on something, don’t know what yet though.

Avast ye, and get out ye Jolly Roger!

Wow. Last night was… Went and saw some local bands. They were decent. Ska bands, I think. Last one did a cover for one of my all time favorite songs; “Beer” by Reel Big Fish.

Was happy to see some old friends and hang out. One of them had brought a friend outside of our circle (so to speak) and her name was Julie. She was 5′ and about 15 years older than me and for some reason all over me.  After 2 AMFs, 3 beers, and a rum and coke (in a 2 hour period) I was pretty drunk. I know I am a light weight but I was having fun.

I was asked if I would be able to take Julie home and I agreed.  Though, I know there were other intentions behind it.  As everyone was heading out Julie went to the bathroom (I think) so I waited for her… waited about 15 mins… looked around the scene and didnt see her.  So, I decided in my head that maybe she left with the others and I headed out the door.  After I got outside, I heard a lady in a not so happy mood talking on a cellphone and looked to see… it was her. In my drunken stooper I for some reason couldn’t turn my body towards her and ended up walking strait to my car. I feel bad and I am sorry.

I know that it would have ended up with some nookie or something but I am not a one night stand kinda guy and she was way older than me. I’m not against the age difference but if we had maybe gotten to know each other more and not been drunk I would have considered it.  I am sure though, we would have had nothing in common… blonde bombshell + geek.  As so far it was only a physical attraction.

Probably the last time I will see her, but if I get the chance I would atleast let her know what happened.

Thanks for the good night and good music though.

Alaska! Susan Pollin???

I told myself I wouldn’t get into this political thing, but this I must share.

and…

This is in no way how I feel, nor do I agree with either candidate or their choice for VP. I just found both videos to be hilarious.

Enjoy

Glorious Day!

I sometimes hate to admit this, but I am a sucker for foreign movies and tv shows. Especially the asian type. I love the way they do certain things and how character development always keeps you guessing. And not knowing if the guy will actually get the girl will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end.

I didn’t have a very productive day. Instead, I had downloaded an entire TV series called ‘Shimokita GLORY DAYS‘…and watched all 12 episodes. For those that don’t read japanese: It’s about a boy that becomes a household pet for 6 women he moves in with. Doing their chores and cooking the meals. All while they are trying to temp him to break one of the household rules: no sex.  Alas, he is in love with a girl that doesn’t live there and no sex ever happens. But hilarious to say the least.  It was the first asain drama series to show something I haven’t seen in any other drama… and it made it a point to show it more than 2 times an episode…what, half of the cast are porn stars! Not my usual type of drama I watch and I am not a perv.  On a side not though, this series reminded me of an anime called ‘Love Hina’, if anyone has ever watched that… Actually, it seemed to be almost the same story line and everything, but was a live action.

I hate how they make all the series feel so short, and almost never make a second season. They seem to just make a new series instead. The most I have ever seen is 2 seasons of any show. Maybe asians get bored faster than us? Just look at how many seasons Friends or Seinfeld or even The Simpsons have done. Mind you, it’s not the fact that the series suck or don’t do well, it just seems to be the culture. Any normal guy would pray for a second season of this show.

Anyways, nite blog.

Edit: After thinking about it today. Dramas only do 1 and rarely 2 seasons, but anime can go for years. Maybe the target audiences are that much different? Adults don’t have time to watch a show for years while kids do?  I thought kids had shorter attention spans.

Dangerous what?

What do Nicholas Cage, hot asian dancers, a deaf woman, guns, and motorcycles all have in common? Bangkok Dangerous.  Almost sounds like one of those bad asian translations. Like it was originally called ‘Trouble in Bangkok’ or ‘Risky Bangkok’… hmm, actually that last one seems more like a porn movie name… might have been better if it had been a porno, but I digress. It wasn’t a horrible movie but maybe a ‘nothing to do on a sunday night lets see whats on tbs movie’ or something. It had some good action scenes. Lifeless facial expression killing. A few scenes with very attractive dancers.

Alot of the movie seemed un-resolved though. i.e. The deaf woman??? Kong and Om???  Maybe a sequel might be able to resolve these, or maybe it was slated as a 2 part movie and no one knows it yet. I seem to remember a great youtube video that reminds me of this movie…

Except, the trailer was better in Bangkok Dangerous and they ruined the movie.

A+?

I set a date of 9/18. I’m excited as it should be easy based on what I know and my expericance thus far. Until then, I will be memorizing the little things and numbers I might need on the test, and for real world application down the road.

Over the past few days I have been asking myself a question. I wasn’t sure if I was asking it because of recent happenings or because I was nervous about doing something I like. The question was; ‘what do I want to do in life?’. As in what job do I want to do that will ultimately make me happy. I know taking the A+ will point me in the direction of the job I have wanted since the 6th or 7th grade. Since then, the experiances I have had in school, friends, and family have also made me look at other jobs that I could do and possibly be happy. But, the more I think about it, the more I still want to do what I had set out to do. It helps that my friends, family, even ex-co-workers keep asking me ‘Why aren’t you in the IT field?’. I ask myself that question all the time too. I guess I am afraid that as soon as I get an IT job that I will mess something up and it will make me not love one of my passions.

Should I keep it only as a hobby and find another path in life? Or, do I persue IT and hope for the best? Maybe I’ll ask myself this question in 2 weeks after my test…

I can critical hit for 12!

There is sometimes, a video that is above the rest. This is one of those videos… Warning, this made my cry from laughter.

This video sums up so much…

I hate Chrome

Add a comment

Honestly, I hate chrome. Chrome wheels, chrome tool boxes, chrome anything. I hate the way it looks…

But, google chrome is WOW. It is very slick, fast, beautiful, and with out the ugly chrome color to boot. This looks to be a huge step forward in browsers. I can’t wait to see what the developers that will make as in new widgets or plug-ins to highten the experiance that much further.

Actually, in the last few days, I was trying to finally get away from IE, as I do like its convienence and some other things it does… I really do not like mozilla/firefox… Am a big big fan of opera and its mouse gestures, but it does major things that I do not like as well… I admit that I had finally broke down and installed firefox and set up all my bookmarks and such and was tolerating it… I was then told of Chrome. Perfect timing. I will atleast give this a shot and try it. *Hoping someone will make mouse gestures for it.* And, I see I am not the only one : Chrome Forums. Actually, speaking of which. Didn’t opera and google make an agreement a while back. Maybe, they can collaberate on this one here…

Anyway. Thanks again Google for another great product. When do we get our Google Soda (or Diet Google Soda for that fact) or a Google LE car of the future?

It’s Monday… err no, Tuesday?

Add a comment

Well, it is literally tuesday, but for most it’s a “monday”. As the holiday just passed most people had monday off and are now enjoying their first day of the work week. Kinda weird. I am happy I dont have to be at work, though I wished I was.  Human, being a creature of habit. Though breaking this habit for the time being has done some positive things.

Over the past few days I have taken it upon myself to really dig into things I want to do.  Finished 2 books I have been reading. With about 15 more I want to read.  Also, I have gotten in about 5-7 hours a day studying.  Most seems like a review, but there are some gold nuggets that I am glad to now know.  I am committed and serious to this now, though I also know I need to find work in the mean time.  I just don’t want to loose focus.

On a side note, World or Warcraft can suck meh balls. Inside joke, offence intended to those who play WoW.
