Well, that was an adventure. Haven’t been to the movies in ages and I got to share it with someone special which made me very happy. We went and saw Kick-Ass, or as my ticket read Kick-A** lol.
Was a decent movie. I didn’t expect as much blood as there was. Had a lot of neat things that I haven’t ever saw in a action movie, ie Mindy. Makes me look at 11 yr old girls differently now!
Was quite odd though, was a quiet movie really, just showing a dork trying to act out his passion. Then all the sudden this little girl comes into the picture and slices peoples body parts off and stabs and shoots people. Was intense.
Favorite scene was testing how it felt to get shot.
Wow! I cannot believe its been over a year now. I have enjoyed blogging these past 12 months, off and on. Yay me!
Went and saw District 9 last Thursday at midnight showing. Movie was pretty fantastic. Almost felt real. As if this will happen in the near future. Animations were spot on, the acting didn’t feel corny, and the aliens were pretty bad ass.
Went to see Star Trek (day of opening). It was a great movie. Was not disappointed at all. The way this movie was done, I cannot wait to see more of this story unfolding with the new cast. I am not a treky or anything, but I think everyone can/will/did enjoy this movie.
Well, since y’all know I am a big fan on FOTC, I will share with you a ‘lil gem I found. I have recently watched Eagle vs Shark (trailer below). I have actually watched/listened to it about 10-15 times in the last two weeks. One of my favorite movies of all time now.
I asked myself why, why do I like it so much. Is it because it has Jemaine Clement? It’s filmed in New Zealand? Actors have really cool accents? Because it’s a classic romantic comedy? Dry humor? Nerdiness? Napoleon Dynamite-ish?
Honestly, all of the above. I would recommend it to anyone that likes to laugh. Though, I have yet to find anyone with my sense of humor that will actually laugh out loud at the same things I do. Watch it and let me know what you think.
Also, this is one of the very few movies Loren Horsley has done. I wish she would do more movies. I find her to be a great actress. Has a real genuine face and portrays so many emotions that feel convincing to me.
Side note: I recently came across FOTC new songs they have been preforming in the recent months. Most likely songs for FOTC season 2. I am very excited and cannot wait til it comes out. I want to make a goal right now to see them live. I haven’t ever said that about any band or comedian, but this is definitely something I want to do in my life.
Well, just went and saw Quantum of Solace. I am kinda upset that I hadn’t been watching the last few. Because if I had seen the last one I would have seen a better bond than what made me stop watching them. I wasn’t a fan of Timothy Dalton or Pierce Brosnan. But, I guess I missed the last james Bond that had Daniel Craig. I’d put him in 3rd of my favorite bonds. Sean Connery then Roger Moore of course.
Movie was good though. Lots of action, not as much ladies as I would have liked to have seen in a Bond movie, and a great car chase scene. Though, did I miss something? What happened to the cool gadget scene with Q? Did he die? And I was sad that they didn’t put the classic Bond movie intro… at the beginning. I guess it was satisfactory that the put it at the end at least.
I do miss Sean Connery though. I wish he wasn’t so old. He needed to do alot more movies. By far my favorite actor, both young and older.
What do Nicholas Cage, hot asian dancers, a deaf woman, guns, and motorcycles all have in common? Bangkok Dangerous. Almost sounds like one of those bad asian translations. Like it was originally called ‘Trouble in Bangkok’ or ‘Risky Bangkok’… hmm, actually that last one seems more like a porn movie name… might have been better if it had been a porno, but I digress. It wasn’t a horrible movie but maybe a ‘nothing to do on a sunday night lets see whats on tbs movie’ or something. It had some good action scenes. Lifeless facial expression killing. A few scenes with very attractive dancers.
Alot of the movie seemed un-resolved though. i.e. The deaf woman??? Kong and Om??? Maybe a sequel might be able to resolve these, or maybe it was slated as a 2 part movie and no one knows it yet. I seem to remember a great youtube video that reminds me of this movie…
Except, the trailer was better in Bangkok Dangerous and they ruined the movie.
Well, Hamlet 2 was actually better than I thought it would be. Had a few good lines to remember, including the title of this post. I was under the impression this would be a funny musical as the trailors had portraid it but I was wrong. Only musical part was at the end with the play itself. The songs though were great.
Just got home from watching Death Race. I thought it was going to be good.. it was great! A few scenes made me even flinch at the gruesomeness. But fast cars, hot chicks, guns, death = Manflick. I would rate it a movie to watch in theaters.
Anyways. Today was last day of my current position. I will miss the freedom I had but I know soon I will have even more freedom as I wont have to work there anymore. Oh well. My last 3 day weekend for awhile, so I will at least enjoy that.
