WOW! And I say it louder.

“Best always” that is.

This is one of those games you really must try.  There is no explaining it, just go and download it.  I play it on and off when I am in between other MMOs.  I have 4 lvl 50s and a few low lvl toons as well.  I have half my toon sspecced STR and other half specced CHA.

My highest lvl toon is Kamu on oobag. He is a a Will o’the Wisp Ilusioner.  I also have a Skraeling Mu-Fu Monk with 346 STR too!

Hi, I am new to this game, but I think I have found a home. I have been into MMO for sometime now and this game looks like the next WOW! I currently have a level seven (crossing my fingers to hit level 8 tonight) double wookie bastard lunatic. I am not sure if I want to play this character as my main or my alt. Anyways I have a ton of questions that I was hoping to have answered. I don’t want to waste time searching the forums because that is clearly time away from advancing my character. First off, I joined the Pemptus server since that one seems to be running the PVP roleplaying ruleset. My questions in no particular order are:

What is the best character for an alt and/or mule?
I went out and bought a G15 keyboard for this game and can’t find any macro for it. I have written a few of my own, but does anyone have any that the can share.

Where can I get the CE edition of the game? I am pretty sure I am running the demo and/or an early beta version because I just upgrade my graphics card to a DX10 Nvidia 9800 and still can’t get the graphics to come on but I am progressing so I am not too concerned since I didn’t see anything in the help file that said that I couldn’t use the same character across different version of the client although when I called EB and asked if they had either the platinum or CE edition of PQ the guy told me that he could not find it in his list. He asked who the publisher was, but I didn’t know. Who is it, then I can order it from them.

Are there any guilds that I can join? I am on the east coast and prefer to play from around 7-11pm EST. I would like to join an active guild that likes to group, and maybe can help me get some better equipment and maybe even take me to a place to power level.

And finally, I need to get more gold which I usually will buy from real world vendor, but since I can’t find the chat/in-game email system, can someone tell me how to enable it. (sorry for ending my Sentence with a preposition - I hate grammar Nazi’s, but I need to get back to the game)

I got the best avatar item of the expansion today though. My trixy bracelet. I cannot wait to melt the other wizzy in guild. Still miffed about it a lil though. A silly troub thought he would bid me up cause he could.. what a fuck face. Oh well, bp in next few months…

Last night I finally got my defiler mythical, woot.  Was my 1st run through of VP with my defiler and I got to MT heal most of it (guild defiler main joined for Silverwing/Pharadar).  So, I got my mythical and Trak access!  The instance you have to do solo was interesting. Nothing like having 130k hp and soloing a 80×2.

HW has been a fun time.

Killing avatars that I only wished of ever killing is very satisfying. When we killed Ykesha it was a great moment too. Only 2 more mobs to go to beat all of this expansion. weeeeeeee.

Finally, a mage bp dropped too, grats to the most patient person (or wasteful) in guild (not me).  Haven’t gotten to see it in action yet.  I usually outparse him by 2-5k, And from a few parses I have seen he will be maybe 1-2k below me. When I get mine I will be untouchable! As I already am 1 or 2 ZW (damn assissin), and the other wizzy is in top 5.

Man it’s been awhile since my last blog.  Just feel like I never have time to do one, even though I really do have time.

Updates:

Well, I was offered a new job.  To be a manager.   Been great so far. Hours are not that bad and the  daily paperwork is easy.  The new people I have met here are great, and the old ones I knew are still awesome.  Fixed a lot of forms we use daily to be more efficient and organized things to better suit work flow.

Been playing eq2 since my last post.  God I missed this game.  Came back to the guild I have been with since like day 3 of my account. Enjoyed seeing them even further along on progression, doing T1 ROK stuff.  Helped a few members DPS better, even in my absence (so I was told).

One of the new people I met when I came back was a crazy Russian guy.  Fun swashy to be with.  He left Evo to be with a VP/TSO raiding guild. It made me sad to see another person leave Evo… then it happened.  What I saw as a very rare opportunity. As I am a wizzy, and it seems everyone has a wizzy so I never thought I would ever get an opportunity to go to a high end guild.  I wanted more though. I wanted to kill THIS expansions stuff. The guild my swashy friend went to needed a wizzy, so I app,ed.

What a fun experience. Killing things with ease, making VP look easy. 2 grouping PR. Learning new encounters in TSO. Killing Tangrin, fun! Sadly, that only lasted a few months.

When I got my new job, I couldn’t make raid times anymore due to that guild being EST. So, I looked around. Found a few guilds that were PST.   One guild stood out though, HW.  Was led by one of the greatest wizzys ever. I used my charm or whatever and got a spot in the guild, which included me leaving my home of BB.  MM is not a bad server though. Lots of things are different, most I wasn’t expecting.

So like, a game I loved. Wanted to play non-stop, and was fun as hell… Yes Warhammer. But sadly, after playing 3 characters to t4… and even being invited to help test new patches on private test server… Was sad. They asked us for feedback. We gave them A TON LOAD of feed back… Did they listen? I will give ya 1 guess, and the answer is not yes. Instead they decided to take away more of what made the game fun, nerfing a class I enjoyed immensely, Sorcerer. They did fix things that no one complained about and no one knew about, but never fixed any bug we gave them or any suggestions we gave them either.

After that, I kinda lost interest. Mythic is supposed to be really good with customer feedback and customer service. I honestly think the devs and CSRs are not even in the same state.  On top of that, my best friend and I played War. We had rolled on a server, which later we moved to another due to low population (read : players are leaving due to things being broken and not being fixed). It was great. The transfer of my 10 characters took maybe 10 mins. Wasn’t until about a week after the transferred there was a problem… One of my characters was named “Duct Tape”. I loved my lil shammie… It was odd though. Was sitting waiting for a scenario to pop, and someone random asked me what I was going to do for my last name… as in, he only saw “Duct” and not “Tape”… I then realized later that night that my best friends character didn’t have his last name either. On my screen I could see my last name, on his screen he could see his. But no one else could see them. I decided to file an Appeal. While my best friend filed a bug report… about 6 hours later I got a reply back from a CSR. Took about 15 mins to explain, then they ended up saying sorry they couldn’t help and to file a bug report, so I did. Then about 24 hours after my best friends bugreport, he got a message from a bug report guy, took less than 30 seconds and I could see his last name again. He then asked the guy what I should do, the bug report said to just file another appeal. So I did… about 4 hours later I got a message from a CSR, err wait, the EXACT same CSR that I talked to the day before… had to explain it again, 15 mins, then they said they couldn’t help… So lets recap, CSR said to file Bugreport, Bugreport said to talk to CSR, CSR said to file bug report….so i filed a 2nd bug report. Did I mention after that I still didn’t get a response from any bugreport people?

I gave up at that point, but a  couple weeks later I decided to try again, maybe I will get lucky, I thought… Filed appeal and got a response about 2 hours later. Explained situation, they said sorry. I explained to them that my friend had it fixed in less than 30 seconds… They said they couldn’t talk about anther account with me… to which I offered to log onto that account at the same time to prove to them and let them read the notes on that account to see it was in fact done.. Both of the CSRs so far have offered to look at the other account, and asked the name of the character it was done on… but neither could discuss it with me. Not like it was a secret, I saw it happen on his character. This CSR even asked their supervisor and he decided they wouldn’t help me either and to file a bug report… I filed a 3rd bug report. To which after 4 weeks, 3 bug reports, I have gotten 0 response and still cannot get my last name to show up to others, OR EVEN MAKE IT GO AWAY on my screen  

I give up on a game that won’t do what they have the means to do to satisfy their customer base. Oh well, most people say its gunna end up just like AoC, dead in 6 months. I think today it around the 4th or 5th month… 

Did I also mention that in t4 there was almost nothing to do? Game was built so that in T4 their would be city take overs… too bad that after the game was in beta for years, and game had been out for 4 months, server or zone crashes when you get to the zone before city.. and then resets and the 4 or 5 hours of hard work to get there is gone… oh well, I won’t worry about a crappy game that had a fun game mechanic.

I am done paying for a game that feels like a beta. Get 90% of the game working not 50% before releasing it… so I decided to play a game that still brings joy to my face. EQ2

I recently posted a craigslisting just to see what the response would be. I had hopes of getting at least ONE actual real response, as I do want someone I can talk to outside of game and relate with that would like to rank up with my sorceress. Yet, I got a bunch of horndogs, blanket messages, and WoW players. My listing I thought was very clear and I will post a pic down below of the listing it self.  I specifically asked for someone to quest with… got ZERO people that said they would love to really quest with me in WARHAMMER not WoW, WARHAMMER…. got one person who played WoW and ACTUALLY thought it was a WoW character… last I checked there was no SORCERESS (or even Sorcerer) class in WoW. But I could be wrong… nah I am 100% right.

After 24 hour period on craigslist, total people that knew what warhammer was : 2.

 

So, I learned a few things from this. I had been conteplating the online dating scene for a few months now. Have read quite a bit of stuff out there as well. I now know what women were complaining about. Competent males responding back to them PERSONALLY, ie not sending the same email to 50 people.

Also, I learned that people on craigslist can’t understand what people are trying to say. Honestly, if I had seen that post I would have sent them my user name and server name and would have asked what server they were on, but that’s just me.

Ninja Edit: Did I mention I disliked World of Warcraft? Watch out Blizzard I think Mythic is going to give you a run for your money. You are old, and the new kid on the block is selling better crack than you.

Not to scare anyone. I am talking about Warhammer (Online). And, unless you live under a rock, or are a geek, you would have at least heard about it.  It is the famous tabletop figurine battle ground RPG… that they made into a MMO.  I have recently been playing the online game (never got to play the tabletop version, though I have always want to). 

 

 

One of my favorite things to do after playing a MMO for a bit is to start reading websites/blogs/forums/anything about “theory crafting”. Which is basically people that have waaaay more time than me that run tests in game to try and reverse engineer the game mechanics to figure out how adding 1 point to strength really affects their damage to a monster.  Now, what I like to do with this is to make spreadsheets of the formulas to both test and to help myself.  I also add my own math and further test things in game to come to my own conclusions.  It’s nice to know that sword 1 is better than sword 2 because… 

I think this last spreadsheet took me about 6-7 hours to complete.  I like doing these as it exorcises my brain and allows me to do something I enjoy : Math.  Sure, most just grab what ever sword they think is best and lolly around the game thinking they are cool cause their sword is bigger, but mine will kill faster.  Maybe it’s my manly instinct of competition or of wanting to just be ‘better than that person’, but I do enjoy the feeling I get from it. 

On another note, I am very excited to blog about my next experience with my Warhammer characters. Sure to please and make you laugh. Stay tuned…
